Whistleblower Awareness Week

As part of Whistleblowing Awareness Week 2024, held from October 21-25, WhistleblowersUK has spotlighted ongoing efforts to advance their Whistleblowing Bill. This initiative underscores the critical role whistleblowers play in ensuring ethical practices and compliance in both public and private sectors.

In a significant development, the topic was raised in the House of Lords, where Baroness Kramer questioned the Government’s assessment of current whistleblower protection laws. Baroness Jones of Whitchurch emphasized that the Government is now reviewing “the COST, the ROLE & the Function of an Office of the Whistleblower,” signaling potential progress in policy reform.

WhistleblowersUK continues to lead as a key partner of The Change For Children International, advocating for national legislative changes and supporting whistleblowers through expert advice and access to legal resources. Their work is pivotal in fostering safer environments for those exposing misconduct while driving systemic change.
